About the role
AMS has an exciting full-time opportunity for an Aerodrome Lighting Product Lead to join our Electrical team. Our Electrical team provides a specialist consultancy capability addressing the compliance of airfield lighting systems through inspections and reporting, installation, and maintenance.
In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of aerodrome lighting systems. The role blends expertise in electrical systems with strong product management capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of aerodrome lighting infrastructure, solar and other DC power systems, and project management principles, along with the ability to design, implement and execute effective product strategies. Based in the AMS Head Office in Perth, this role involves frequent travel to projects sites to support delivery and engage with clients as needed. Regular responsibilities include:
• Engage with clients and the wider industry to promote AMS and its products, including developing project briefs and clarifying requirements
• Collaborate with the electrical team and the broader technical services department to ensure seamless project execution
• Contribute to the development and implementation of project standards, processes and documentation
• Support the on-site installation and commissioning of airfield lighting systems
• Conduct aerodrome electrical technical inspections and prepare corresponding reports as required
About you
AMS will provide ongoing training and professional development to support this next step in your career, but you’ll already be off to a great start if you have previous experience in the following areas:
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with both clients and team members
• Strong understanding of project management principles, including planning, scheduling and resource allocation to meet project deadlines
• Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues as they arise
• Previous experience with aerodrome lighting systems is desirable, though not essential
• Electrical Trade Certificate endorsed for Western Australia (other states beneficial but not essential)
• WA electrical Contractors License (Nominee) is desirable, though not essential
• LV/CPR and Construction Industry White Card
• Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
• Valid manual Australian Driver’s License
