As we continue to grow, we are looking for a skilled People & Culture Manager to join our leadership team and be a key member of a Tasmanian business delivering exceptional care to our clients. This is a full time position based in our Launceston office.

Role Overview:

The People and Culture Manager is responsible for shaping and delivering a people and culture strategy. Your role will ensure that Community Care TASMANIA is an employer of choice by fostering a values-driven, high-performing, and engaged workforce that aligns with our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities (Selection Criteria):

Strategy and Planning – Provide expert advice to the Executive Management Team and Board on workforce-related matters and contribute to the development and delivery of employment relations strategies, systems, policies and process.

Leadership and Team Management -Foster a positive and inclusive organisational culture, managing performance appraisals with a human centric approach. Empowering team leads to provide support to team members.

Quality and Compliance – Oversee HR operations and compliance to ensure that all P & C activities are fully compliant with legislative requirements and best practice approaches. Enabling best-practice industrial and employee relations, up-to-date knowledge of current employment relations frameworks, providing support and advise in all matters of employee relations-related risks, practices and processes

External Stakeholder engagement/management – Manage and coordinate external industrial relations and employee relations claims and the advocacy of matters before Commissions or Tribunals, in addition to providing oversight of the internal Work Cover process, ensuring adherence to all relevant legislation.

Internal Stakeholder engagement/management – Provide oversight of the internal workplace investigations process, and Work Cover process to ensure the effective implementation and management of activities across operations.

Financial Management – Manage budgets, resources and staffing to ensure the efficient operation of the People and Culture Team.

A focus on growth – Identifying new opportunities and supporting continual growth across Tasmania.

About You:

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and highly organised People and Culture Manager who has a passion for supporting Tasmanians living in their own homes and communities, and leading a dedicated team to deliver high-quality care. You will bring:

Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

• Extensive senior leadership experience in a People and Culture role preferably in a not-for-profit community organisation.

• Proven ability to manage complex employee and industrial relations matters.

• Proven successful experience in negotiating employee agreements

Leadership Skills:

• Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, with experience in managing staff performance and fostering a positive work environment.

• Deep understanding of employee engagement, talent management, and leadership development.

• Demonstrated ability to drive cultural and organisational change

Regulatory Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge of employment law, industrial relations, and workplace health and safety.

• Understanding of Federal and Tasmanian Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice and legislative instruments that relate to Aged Care and NDIS.

• Deep understanding of the Fair Work Act and SCHADS Award.

Problem-Solving & Decision-Making:

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions and take action in a fast-paced environment.

Communication Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, families, staff, and external stakeholders.

• Computer literacy, including Excel, financial software, database management, CRM’s and reporting of metrics. Experience with Employment Hero & Nightingale would be an advantage.

• Attractive salary & salary packaging – This is a SCHADS SACS Level 7 position. With additional salary packaging benefits up to $15,900 plus a meal & accommodation package of up to $2649
