The opportunity
The Accounts Administrator is responsible for promptly addressing customer inquiries, following up on purchase orders, and updating and re-issuing reports as needed. This role also carries out the Accounts Receivable function within the administrative team by processing invoices, ensuring invoices are current in customer portals, processing payments, debtor follow up and managing the accounts inbox.
The position plays a key role in maintaining effective cash flow management, supporting financial reporting, and driving continuous improvements within accounts receivable operations.
Based at our new facility in Boronia, you will:
- provide a responsive, courteous, helpful advisory service and general administrative support across the business as required including, answering telephone calls, message taking and file management.
- process invoices following organisational policies. Match invoices with customer purchase orders and code them to correct general ledger accounts.
- process payments made via EFT, credit card, cheque, or other methods. Reconcile customer accounts to ensure payments received are accurate and timely. Maintain records of and resolve any payment discrepancies.
- manage the accounts inbox, follow up on all invoicing queries, and provide regular updates to customers. Regularly follow up on overdue accounts and update customer accounts accordingly.
In addition you will,
- Contribute to specialised projects, process improvements and other initiatives including customer engagement, technology solutions and enhanced reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
- Certificate IV or higher in Accounting & Bookkeeping or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
- 2+ years of accounts receivable and business administration experience.
- Experience with contemporary business systems including Outlook, MYOB and MS Office suite desirable.
