About the role

Based at our Brindley Park (near Roma) feedlot, the role of Fitter will work within our maintenance team and enjoy loads of variety working on a range of infrastructure, equipment, plant and machinery, whilst you safely and effectively carry out the following tasks:

  • Review drawings and specifications to identify suitable materials, method and sequence of operations, and machine settings
  • Fit fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment
  • Quality checking fabricated and assembled parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments
  • Accurately setting guides, stops and other controls on machining tools, setting up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and dies in machines and presses, and setting controls for textile machines
  • Form metal stock and castings to required tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore and drill metal
  • Cut, thread, bend and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
  • Prepare pattern mechanisms to control the operation of textile machines used to spin, weave, knit, sew and tuft fabric
  • Troubleshoot to diagnose faults
  • Undertake operational maintenance of machines
  • Undertake overhauls and mechanical repair of parts and fluid power equipment
  • Erect machines and equipment on-site

You’ll enjoy a 10/4 lifestyle roster and be rewarded with a based annual income between $74,000 - $85,000 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation, ongoing training and development.

About you

You will have a minimum of 2 years’ demonstrated experience working on a broad range of plant, equipment and machinery along with the following skills, attributes and qualifications:

  • AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV
  • Maintaining a safe, organised workshop and work area
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations
  • Ability to prioritise and complete tasks efficiently
  • Ability to accurately record data and information
  • Flexibility and strong work ethic
  • Full/unrestricted drivers' licence (essential)
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to WHS policies, procedures and regulations
  • Reliable and honest
  • Agricultural background/experience (desirable)

Consideration may be given to candidates with at least three years of relevant experience without the formal qualifications listed above.
