About the role
Are you passionate about empowering youth and making a positive difference? selectability's empowered youth programs are seeking enthusiastic and skilled mentors to support individuals as they complete various certificates and build brighter futures. Based in Mackay the lifestyle support worker mentor will provide support to student during the delivery of Certificate I Hospitality
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- mentoring and providing education support to youth engaged in certificate programs
- empowering youth to build confidence, life skills, and resilience
- creating a positive and inclusive environment that fosters learning and growth
- collaborating with the program coordinator to deliver tailored support
About you
To be successful you must:
- experience training/teaching others, a background in teaching/coaching is desirable
- patience working with individuals requiring extra support and guidance
- possess clear and effective communication skills
- experience working in a team environment
- commitment to helping others achieve their goals
- exhibit an ability to problem solve
- be able to follow policies and procedures at all times
- be able to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals
You will also need:
- a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland drivers licence
- a currently registered, roadworthy, and fully comprehensive vehicle
- a current nationally recognised First Aid and CPR certificates (or the ability to obtain)
- a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'
