What’s the opportunity?
Our Richmond café showcases the very best coffee and hospitality experience and we are on the hunt for an experienced barista to join our Richmond team on a casual basis to work 15-20 hours per week. Availability on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday is a must!
Our newest team member is passionate about coffee and customer service and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. A current Vic RSA and food safety certificate will be advantageous. In this role you will:
- Continually push the quality benchmark of coffee served;
- Provide the best in customer service, including greeting and serving customers and helping with the day-to-day tasks that help keep our café performing at its best e.g. table service, open and close procedures for the coffee machine and area.
- Work with top-of-the-range equipment and coffee;
- Share knowledge and educate the customer regarding all thing’s coffee through retail sales and demonstrations;
- Take orders and deliver beverages in line with Veneziano Coffee Roasters (VCR) professional standards;
- Join a collaborative and supportive team where no task is too big or too small for anyone
What we are looking for:
- Two years previous experience as a barista in a busy cafe – experience serving specialty coffee will be highly regarded;
- Experience dialling in at least two coffees;
- Calm under pressure;
- Experience in a high volume, fast pace setting;
- Customer focussed with a happy disposition;
- Ability to multi-task, switch between floor service, bar, and retail when needed;
- V60 pour over experience will be looked upon favourably;
- Experience selling retail coffee (beans and equipment) will also be looked upon favourably.
