We’re currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our growing organisation and provide support across two services in both Dandenong and Springvale!

About the role:

As a Support Worker you will be responsible for the provision of high quality, professional and individualised supports for participants. As well as providing direct support to participants and facilitating group activities, other duties will include:

  • Supporting staff, students and volunteers to provide meaningful outcomes for participants and ensure services are delivered in accordance with all relevant policies, procedures and legislation;
  • Assisting the Service Coordinator where needed, with the day-to-day coordination of the site to ensure continuity of service delivery for participants and carers, including developing activity timetable, rostering of staff, activity sign offs on Supportability and general administration duties;
  • In the absence of Service Coordinator, be the first point of contact for staff/participants and families and problem solve any issues that arise;

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Certificate IV in Disability or a social service/health related course is essential.
  • Current First Aid, CPR and Manual Handling certificates.
  • At least two years’ experience and working with people with a disability and providing support.
  • Demonstrated ability to support participants in their ability to maintain their wellbeing, independence and personal goals and outcomes.
  • Flexibility and adaptability are critical in this role.
  • A well-developed ability to problem solve, think creatively and work safely.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Good computer literacy skills, including the use of MS Office, Client Management Systems, and other applications.
  • Being passionate about helping people and providing support!
  • Current and valid Victorian driver’s license.
