Description:
This role is responsible for conducting food production checks, grading, packed and made ready for the commercial market. This is your opportunity to play a crucial role in ensuring top-quality produce reaches manufacturer for processing and restaurants across Australia. Located in Hallam, southeast from Melbourne CBD, the role is offered casually with ongoing regular work.
About the Position:
- Undertake quality checks of all produce coming in and out of production (visual checks, cooking defects, specific gravity measurements)
- Liaise with key stakeholders in the production workflow. E.g. packing and labelling areas
- Quality record keeping in line with company policy and food safety requirements
- Appropriate escalation and reporting on all the above
- Ensure all health and hygiene standards are personally upheld and championed more broadly in line with Food Safety Standards
- Comply with production policies and processes
- Quickly address and resolve any issues to keep operations smooth and running at an appropriate level
- Work closely with co-workers to meet production targets and uphold safety standards
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous demonstrated work history, outlining at least 12 months of full-time work in a quality control role in a food production area
- Strong focus on maintaining quality and accuracy in all tasks
- Demonstrated English language and numeracy proficiency
- Demonstrated computer literacy
- Good communication skills to contribute positively, report issues and coordinate with the team
- Demonstrated knowledge of operating safely in an agricultural environment and adhering to WHSE requirements.
