About the role
PORTERHAUS is seeking an experienced Butcher to join our team in Moonee Ponds, Victoria on a full-time basis. As a Butcher, you will play a crucial role in providing our customers with high-quality, fresh meat products and exceptional service.
What you'll be doing
- Expertly cutting, trimming, and preparing a variety of meats to meet customer orders and requirements
- Providing knowledgeable advice and recommendations to customers on meat selection and preparation
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all equipment and work areas are properly sanitised
- Assisting with inventory management and stock control to minimise waste and ensure product freshness
- Contributing to the overall success of the butchery through excellent customer service and teamwork
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a qualified Butcher, with a strong understanding of meat cutting and preparation techniques
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to provide knowledgeable, personalized assistance to customers
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the overall success of the business
- A passion for the trade and a desire to continuously develop your skills and knowledge
