About the Role
The Executive Officer will provide comprehensive secretarial and governance support to the Board of Directors and the CEO, as well as coordinate and manage key SSA projects.
The Executive Officer will hold the concurrent role of Company Secretary of the Swinburne Student Association as well as the lead role in the governance administration of the Board of Directors and Student Representative. You’ll have lead oversight of ensuring that the SSA meets its corporate governance obligations, ensuring compliance with the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) and other regulatory requirements.
In conjunction with the CEO, the Executive Officer plays a key leadership role in empowering the SSA workforce to meets its core objectives and deliver the best student experience at Swinburne.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Experience in managing governance processes within listed, private, or not-for-profit organisations;
- Strong understanding of the Corporations Act as well as ASIC and ACNC regulatory requirements; and
- Solid grounding in compliance oriented frameworks for a small-mid organisation size.
Qualifications
Qualification in business administration, governance or a related field (or equivalent experience). Membership of the Governance Institute of Australia or Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) will be highly preferred.
About Swinburne Student Association
Swinburne Student Association ( SSA ) is a newly formed student association tasked with overseeing the provision of a range of services to students at Swinburne University of Technology. These services include Clubs and Sports, a range of leadership and student wellbeing initiatives, Advocacy and our Events and Experience Program across Swinburne’s campuses.
The SSA is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of three Swinburne appointees and six elected Student Directors, supported by a workforce of 25 staff who are dedicated to delivering a world-class student experience at Swinburne.
