Key responsibilities include:
Developing, implementing and reviewing strategies and policies of purchasing, storage, and distribution following business objectives.
Forecasting demand and setting optimal stock levels to minimize costs.
Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers.
Negotiating contracts with suppliers to secure favourable pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
Monitoring and reviewing supplier performance.
Coordinating international shipments, including selecting appropriate freight forwarders and transportation modes.
Managing customs clearance procedures, and ensuring compliance with import regulations and documentation.
Tracking shipments and resolving any delays or discrepancies.
Monitoring stock levels to prevent overstocking or shortages.
Recording and tracking stock movements and implementing activities of stock planning and reviewing to identify areas for improvement and maintain optimal stock levels
Managing warehouse activities including receiving, storing, and picking processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Implementing measures of optimizing warehouse space utilization and workflow efficiency.
Coordinating deliveries to customers, ensuring timely and accurate goods distribution.
Generating reports on key performance indicators of supply, inventory turnover, delivery times, cost savings, etc.
Communicating with other departments to understand demand and supply needs
Collaborating with suppliers to address quality issues and maintain delivery schedules
Addressing customer concerns related to deliveries and product availability
