The Role
The position will involve the maintenance and repairs of Robodrill underground tunnelling jumbos. The applicant will need experience with these machines and be able to fault find and repair the mechanical and electrical sub systems on the machines. As a driven leader. You’ll have excellent communication skills, problem-solving skills and the ability to manage and oversee the organisation's overall operations business goals and strategies as well as to direct and coordinate the activities of the maintenance team.
Responsibilities of the Role
· Oversee and update technical documentation, service reports, and maintenance records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
· Monitor equipment performance, provide feedback, and recommend modifications or improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
· Manage the logistics of parts, tools, and service schedules, ensuring smooth workflow and minimal downtime.
· Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on Robodrill underground tunnelling jumbos, ensuring operational efficiency.
· Coordinate parts procurement, estimate material requirements, and oversee the availability of tools and components for repairs and maintenance.
· Supervise and conduct field and workshop testing to verify the reliability and performance of machinery.
· Oversee and assist with fault identification and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical sub-systems, ensuring effective repairs.
· Plan and manage routine servicing, inspections, and component replacements, ensuring optimal machine performance.
· Direct and coordinate service calls, repairs, and maintenance tasks, providing leadership to the small operations team.
· Ensure strict adherence to industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
· Travel interstate as required to provide on-site repairs, servicing, and oversee equipment deliveries, ensuring smooth operations across locations.
Skills Required:
Successful applicants must have:
· Certificate IV in Engineering (At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification).
· Proven leadership experience, with the ability to supervise and coordinate a small maintenance team effectively.
· Strong ability to diagnose and troubleshoot faults in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical sub-systems.
· Capability to work independently and manage team operations, ensuring smooth workflow and task delegation.
· Experience in organizing service calls, repairs, parts procurement, and equipment deliveries while overseeing maintenance schedules.
· Willingness to travel interstate frequently for on-site equipment deliveries, repairs, and operational support.
· Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to equipment maintenance and operational challenges.
· Commitment to workplace safety standards and industry regulations, ensuring compliance in all maintenance activities.
· Effective communication, leadership, and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and provide guidance to team members.
· Ability to maintain accurate service reports and technical documentation, ensuring detailed record-keeping for compliance and efficiency.
· Conversational French skills would be an advantage.
