Ski Lodge Management Couple/Manager/Lodge Support Staff

Valhalla Perisher
Tumut Full-day Full-time

Description:

The key responsibility of the role is to manage day-to-day operations of the lodge, ensuring an exceptional guest experience, for which Valhalla is renowned. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the complete guest experience (excluding reservations)
  • Preparing high-quality meals for all guests and accommodated staff
  • Lodge maintenance: daily lodge cleanliness plus attending to any minor/emergency work
  • Staff recruitment, management and training
  • Expense/budget and stores control
  • Ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, licensing and other laws

This is a fabulous opportunity for a management couple to utilise their snow hospitality and management skills to treat guests to a superior mountain lodge experience in the spectacular Perisher Valley. Single experienced lodge managers are also encouraged to apply (in which case we’d also seek the services of a Lodge Chef to support you).

About You

This is a demanding though enormously rewarding job. As such, hands-on managers with a flexible approach and snow hospitality management experience are required.

In addition to our beautifully-maintained accommodation, we are renowned for our great food, so the ability to cook and prepare high-quality meals for up to 30 people is essential (if you are a single Lodge Manager, we will recruit a Lodge Chef to support you).

You must have a passion for hospitality and ensuring a quality guest experience. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are a must, and experience with managing a small team and budgets is strongly preferred.

Both managers need to have RSA Certificates and at least one must have First Aid and Food Safety Certificates, plus drivers license and the ability to drive a skidoo and a manual troop carrier in snowy conditions. Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a Police Check and provide evidence of up-to-date COVID vaccinations. A Working with Children Check may also be required. Note that children of Lodge Managers cannot be accommodated and pets are not permitted in the national park.

So What’s In It For You?

Your contribution to the Valhalla experience will be rewarded in many and varied ways!

  • The opportunity to live, work and play in magnificent surrounds
  • Attractive base salary + bonus + accommodation & meals
  • Split shifts offering plenty of time to play
  • Picture-perfect views and a calm, family friendly lodge with lots of repeat guests
  • The peace-of-mind that comes with a year-round contract covering both Winter and Summer seasons (preferred, though there is potential for Winter-only contract if required)
  • Supportive, Australian-based owners
