The Role
Due to continuous growth of our firm, a new opportunity has arisen for a solicitor with 2-3 years’ post qualification experience to join our high performing Commercial Litigation & Insolvency Team. In this role you will be a critical part of a busy team of lawyers and gain exposure to a range of different matters including complex litigation, personal and corporate insolvency, property transactions, employment law matters, and ASIC investigations/white collar crime matters. The majority of files will be commercial litigation matters, with additional exposure to insolvency, complex commercial matters and property transactions.
Responsibilities will include:
- Taking instructions from and communicating effectively with clients
- Drafting correspondence to clients and opposing parties
- Advising clients in relation to their legal rights, obligations, strategies, and prospects
- Drafting legal documents such as pleadings and affidavits including preparation of documents for final hearings
- Undertaking legal research
- Preparation and appearance at court for directions, interlocutory hearings and final hearings
- Adhering to court directed timetables
- Client reporting and management
- Assistance with the development of junior employees
- Communicating with and taking instructions from senior lawyers within the team
What we are looking for
