About The Division / Team
Our Central & North West network services passengers services, grain, general intermodal and other bulk freight trains. We provide an efficient and reliable rail transportation system between regional areas and the Port of Newcastle plus connections into Sydney and southern NSW.
About The Opportunity
As a Rail Labourer, you will be operating and performing general maintenance activities associated heavy rail bound plant and equipment.
We will pay for all of your training and provide you with on-the-job mentoring in order for you to succeed. You need to have good written and oral communication skills together with the ability to work in a team environment whilst holding safety as a core value.
You will be happy to work outdoors in rain, hail or shine and won't be afraid to get your hands dirty and contribute to our team. We actively encourage people from diverse backgrounds and experience to apply.
Carry out routine and ad-hoc maintenance duties on ARTC’s network Undertake safeworking in-line with rules and procedures Participate in the On-Call roster at the provisioning centre. Participate and assist in problem solving associated with the asset performance or condition.
About You
To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate:
Drivers Licence - Class C Ability to actively collaborate within a team Well-developed oral and written communication skills Computer proficiency – Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint an advantage Share our company value of No Harm Self-motivated with a willingness to learn Ability to work additional hours, be on-call and travel as required Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Desirable Selection Criteria
Previous rail and plant experience will be highly regarded Track examination and protection officer competencies will be highly regarded Civil experience will be considered HR licence Plant and equipment tickets
