About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Java Developer for a contract role with a leading banking client in Sydney. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting-edge financial technology projects, leveraging the latest Java technologies and best practices in software development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance applications using Java technologies (e.g., Embedded Tomcat, Spring Boot ).
- Implement and maintain web services and integrate with various banking systems.
- Apply software design patterns, system design principles, and application architecture best practices.
- Ensure application security by following OWASP Top 10 guidelines and industry standards.
- Work with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools to streamline deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, security, and infrastructure teams.
- Troubleshoot and optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security .
Key Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications relevant to IT or Banking.
- Strong knowledge of Java and associated frameworks ( Spring Boot, Embedded Tomcat ).
- Experience in designing and developing RESTful web services .
- Understanding of SQL Server (highly regarded).
- Experience with C programming (highly regarded).
- Familiarity with automation platforms (e.g., Puppet) is a plus.
- Understanding of CI/CD practices and tools .
- Strong grasp of application security best practices .
