About the Role
An opportunity has become available for a Procurement Advisor in Mango Hill, QLD for Downer’s Energy & Utilities business unit reporting to the Senior Procurement Advisor. The Procurement Advisor is accountable for supporting the Queensland Unitywater (UW) Program (but may involve projects and programs outside of this program/region from time-to-time) by coordinating procurement activities in accordance with Downer frameworks, standards and processes. The ideal candidate will envision themselves attending to duties such as:
- Develop and implement a subcontracting strategy for Unitywater and work collaboratively with the procurement hub to identify and plan for sourcing of long-lead time items, services (e.g. traffic management, engineering consultancy), materials and consumables
- Support the management teams to ensure a full understanding of, and compliance with, existing policies and procedures
- Liaise with the Commercial Manager when engaging with Downer Group legal representatives on activities requiring legal review in accordance with the Downer Governance requirements
- Report on key metrics and KPIs to senior management, ensuring transparency in procurement activities.
- Support bid teams in the development of procurement strategies, including assisting with the preparation and review of RFQs as required
About You
- Demonstrable 5+ experience in procurement, commercial and/or contract management in construction, utilities, oil and gas or similar industry
- Procurement experience in large complex packages with sound understanding of the Australian construction market and its forms of contract
- Good relationship management and influencing skills and experience working in a collaborative & relationship-based client environment
- Attention to detail, diligent in ensuring tenders and contracts are clear, accurate, and comply with legal, financial, and technical requirements, including alignment with Head Contract requirements
