Your contribution

• Oversee the ECQ's strategic communications, First Nations engagement, corporate governance, policy and research functions, and provide operational
guidance on delivery of internal audit and in-house functions.
• Provide strategic advice to the Electoral Commissioner, Senior Management Team and other forums on delivery of communication, policy and governance activities in alignment with the ECQ's strategic objectives.
• Represent the Strategy, Policy and Governance team and/or the ECQ in key internal and external governance forums.
• Provide direction to the Communication team in delivery of the ECQ's strategic communication objectives, including coordinating external and internal
communications, digital engagement, media relations and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Provide direction to the Strategy and Governance team in delivery of a range of corporate governance outputs including development of the ECQ,s strategic and operational plans, annual reports and Estimates committee support, as well as policy advice and research support on key projects.
• Act as program manager for a range of major election projects and by-election support activities including communication and engagement, and reviews, evaluation and reports on election delivery.
• Direct and oversee the preparation of the ECQ's corporate reports and public documents, ensuring accuracy and quality, applying high standards of attention to detail and written communication.
• Manage support services for the operation of the Local Government Change Commission, provide direction on the conduct of reviews of local government boundaries or electoral arrangements and oversee preparation of reports on reviews.
• Liaise with Queensland Government, local government and non-government stakeholders on matters relating to administration of electoral legislation and delivery of high-quality electoral services to Queenslanders.
• Oversee the financial, human resources and operational management of the Strategy, Policy and Governance team in accordance with core public sector governance principles
• Ensure delivery of the Strategy, Policy and Governance team's key priorities and drive collaboration within the organisation and with key stakeholders.

Essential/desirable requirements
An understanding of the electoral process and legislative requirements will be well regarded.
