About your opportunity:
In this position you will be responsible for delivering high quality training for residential care providers, foster and kinship carers and other stakeholders regarding trauma informed care and attachment issues for children in care.
To deliver high level evidence-informed clinical mental health services, including assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic intervention and evaluation, to children and young people engaged with Child Safety Services, Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women who present with extreme and complex emotional and behaviour challenges.
About your role:
- Apply high level clinical knowledge in childhood trauma, attachment theory, child development, collaborative practice and systemic theory in the provision of a clinical mental health service to children, adolescents and their family/carers.
- Manage a complex caseload, using evidence-based interventions and with infrequent need for direct monitoring and supervision.
- Provide specialist mental health consultation to key stakeholders including professionals within internal and external government, non-government and private agencies, carer providers and families involved with children and young people in the care of the Child Safety Services.
- Work collaboratively with key government, non-government and private sector service providers to coordinate and direct a responsive interagency care plan to address the therapeutic and behaviour support needs of the child or young person.
- Ensure the collection, data entry and clinical application of standardised assessment tools, to comply with the service evaluation and research requirements of the state-wide information development plan, Evolve Therapeutic Services, and local research initiatives.
