Your Role
As the Indigenous Pathways and Partnerships Officer (Identified), you will:
- Support disengaged or at-risk students to re-engage with school or an eligible option.
- Develop partnerships with community, government, and non-government agencies, and foster cultural awareness in schools to enhance outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
This role reports to the Manager - First Nations Education Partnerships and Programs.
Responsibilities include:- Support schools by developing processes, reporting systems, operational policies, and procedures to inform Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, parents, and community members of school and departmental priorities.
- Build professional capacity of staff through consultative networks, professional development, and partnerships focused on improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of specialist projects, including coordination of activities to achieve project objectives.
- Participate in actions that support the transition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students across critical junctures.
- This role requires filling by an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person as per Section 7 of the Anti Discrimination Act 1991.
- Verification of Aboriginality and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage is required.
