The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Program Services Officer to be part of our Biosecurity Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.

The primary purpose of the role is to provide program support to the Fruit Fly Emergency Response Program (the Program). The role contributes to delivering the agency’s priorities which comply with policies / direction provided by the State Coordination Centre (SCC) by respond to resourcing requests, invoicing, ability to use government systems (Hardcat and Basware) and ensuring supplies, accommodation and ordering activities are managed.

The role will also participate in process improvement initiatives and provides a proactive project and business support services. The Program Services Officer will also maintain effective working relationships with relevant managers across the program to ensure efficient operations of the Program. In the event of a large-scale response, the role may also be required to manage a small team of Program Services Support Officers.

Special Conditions

  • Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
  • Australian residency or current work permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
  • Opportunity up to December 2025

Requirements

  • Possession of a current driver’s licence and willingness to drive.
  • Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be required.
  • Having an intermediate level of procurement knowledge and/or invoice processing experience in Basware will be an advantage.
  • Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
  • You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations when applying for a role.
  • The incumbent must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.

Remuneration


ASO3 - $67,589 min - $72,033 max per annum, plus superannuation
