Housekeeping Supervisor - Full-Time
Be part of something special as we prepare to open our brand-new hotel in Glenelg, opening soon! We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Housekeeping Supervisor to join our dynamic housekeeping team at The George, Glenelg.
Managed by leading hospitality management company, 1834 Hotels, this is an exciting chance to be part of a leading brand. The successful candidate will be dedicated, hard-working, and hands-on. Reporting directly to the General Manager, your role will be pivotal in ensuring the day-to-day housekeeping operations meet the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work within set budgets related to wage costs and adjust rosters according to demand.
- Lead housekeeping and public area cleaning departments.
- Develop thorough knowledge of venue facilities, including room types and locations.
- Ensure effective cleaning of hotel areas with clear, concise checklists.
- Establish and maintain specific cleaning procedures for staff to follow.
- Ensure all room cleans are performed on schedule and meet the required high standards.
- Inspect arrival rooms daily and public areas regularly to maintain high standards.
- Prioritise early arrival rooms and communicate effectively with the team.
- Handle staff relations, including conflict resolution, absenteeism, and performance management.
- Oversee linen and stock orders, stock rotation, returns, and quality control.
- Accurately oversee the restocking of and monitor mini-bar supplies and conduct regular stock takes.
- Communicate necessary repairs and replacements to the maintenance team.
- Ensure that work, health, and safety standards are of the highest level at all times.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A can-do, responsible, and flexible approach to work.
- Prior experience in leading, developing, and mentoring a housekeeping team in a medium to large tier hotel
- Comprehensive financial understanding of managing costs, particularly controlling wages.
- Initiative, commitment, and a passion for delivering high-quality service.
- The ability to communicate effectively and lead your team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with a proactive approach.
- Immaculate presentation and grooming, with a great sense of style.
- A strong understanding of Hospitality Industry (General) Award compliance.
- A strong appreciation and adherence to workplace safety standards.
