Description:
The Deputy Registrar of Probates is responsible for providing legal direction and technical guidance to the legal profession, Probate and Registry staff, trustee companies, self-represented applicants and members of the public without supervision. They manage the case workflow of the Probate Registry by exercising the powers and authority of the Registrar of Probates and provide leadership, supervision and support to the Assistant Legal Officer/Associate Deputy Registrar of Probates, the Probate Registry Services Coordinator and other Registry staff.
Requirements:
The successful applicant must have the following:
- Bachelor of Laws Degree and be admitted to practice in the Supreme Court.
- Current and unrestricted practising certificate.
- Considerable post-admission experience.
Special Conditions:
- This is a long term contract for up to 12 months.
- Appointment is under the Courts Administration Act 1993. Terms and Conditions of employment are governed by the Public Sector Act 2009.
- Appointment is dependent upon a current National Police Certificate that the CAA finds satisfactory.
- As a justice agency, the CAA may receive details of spent convictions as part of any Criminal History Screening and use this information in the selection process.
- Appointees may be directed to disclose their COVID-19 vaccination status.
Remuneration:
LE4 ($118, 529 to $129, 582 per annum)
