Description:

As a Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in applying systems engineering principles and practices to improve the design, integration, and operation of water and wastewater infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring efficient project delivery, optimising system performance, and driving continuous improvement across assets.

Our Systems Planning Water team plays a critical role in supporting water projects. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Engineer Systems across Water to join the infrastructure business unit. This role provides technical expertise in design, system planning, and infrastructure investigation, supporting business decisions and enabling sustainable growth.
In addition, your responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively contribute to team objectives by completing allocated tasks, participating in decision-making, and fostering a culture of service excellence.
  • Uphold safety standards for yourself and others, ensuring compliance with WHS procedures and maintaining fitness for work.
  • Develop and support plans for existing and future water infrastructure using network models to meet current and future requirements.
  • Maintain and develop water distribution hydraulic models, support consultancy briefs, and assist with GIS/IT tool customisation.
  • Respond to technical queries and provide solutions for fire flow network analysis, customer growth, operational challenges, and water quality support within agreed timelines.
  • Adopt contemporary technical knowledge and standards to enhance team outputs and ensure quality and efficiency in planning and modelling.

Your success in this role will come from:

  • Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, or a related field to support the role and project
  • Demonstrated experience in applying systems engineering principles to complex infrastructure or utility projects.
  • Strong understanding of systems integration, requirements management, and lifecycle engineering.
  • Proven ability to identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders
