About the Role
As Senior Manager / Director, you will provide a range of advice to key stakeholders and be responsible for providing accounting technical advice to clients and the provision of technical support in financial reporting.
The position will also be responsible for developing new initiatives and reviewing training materials to increase resources around financial reporting matters. This will include the preparation and delivery of related training courses as well as contributing to a variety of publications and technical discussions.
Key responsibilities will include:

Provide technical accounting support to audit and other client-facing engagement teams

Reviewing and assisting with financial statement disclosures

Provision of specialist technical advice on the application of IFRS and Australian Accounting Standards to clients in relation to complex transactions

Working with clients to prepare high quality financial statements

Implementing services of new accounting standards
-
Act as technical consultant in accordance with the BDO technical consultations policy for any accounting matter set out in the policy

Perform technical reviews of financial statements in accordance with BDO technical consultations policy
-
Contribute ideas and review training materials prepared by BDO National Professional Standards on accounting matters

Prepare and deliver financial reporting and training

Prepare and deliver client accounting seminars and training

Research into and development of responses to changes in Accounting Standards

Active involvement in regular national meetings to discuss technical queries and ensure consistency across our offices.

Assist with the growth of the IFRS Advisory team through the development of a suitable professional profile and other marketing and business development activities.
About You
-
Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Australian Accounting Standards (AASB)
-
Experience in analysing accounting issues and presenting viable solutions
-
Strong client and stakeholder focus
-
CA or CPA qualifications
-
Clear and effective communication skills and well developed interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively at all levels
