Job Description
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, and as an integral member of Maintenance senior leadership team, the primary purpose of this role is to develop and review electrical standards, engineering practices and procedures for the life cycle of electrical plant and installations.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Supervising the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of electrical plant is a critical part of this role
- Managing various projects and contractors to deliver on our budgeted commitments
- Mentoring and leading a team of engineers.
- Seeking opportunities for improvements in equipment and machinery safety performance by monitoring industry-wide trends
- Assisting in developing budget and meeting budget
- Developing, implementing and maintaining the statutory Electrical Engineering Control Plan as required by the WHS (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Act and the WHS (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Regulations
- Liaise with Maintenance Supervision and Planners to prepare Maintenance Management Plans for equipment and machinery on site.
- Participate in formal reviews of catastrophic equipment failure; identify causes & implement remedial actions
- Review condition monitoring reports and recommend actions as maybe appropriate
- Keep abreast of current legislative requirements
- Undertake assigned audits & completion of site safety actions
ROSTER AND LOCATION
- Monday to Friday professional roster
- Based on site at HVO (off Lemington Road)
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering
- Previous asset management experience across large facilities
- An Electrical Engineer Certificate of Competence (open cut coal) is essential, and a current Practising Certificate is highly desirable.
- A preparedness to challenge the norm and drive continuous improvement
- Experience in implementing best practice using a fully involved and hands on approach
- Extensive experience in maintenance management systems, policies and procedures
- A proven record of accomplishment in demonstrating strong systems focus and strategic approach to delivering positive outcomes.
- Strong relationship building skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal and influencing abilities.
