How will I help?
The Finance Optimisation and Delivery Lead reports into the Head of Finance Operational Excellence, Group Finance and is a Finance job family role and is at the forefront of optimising finance processes, enhancing reporting capabilities, and driving automation.
As a Finance Optimisation and Delivery Lead, you will play a critical role in enhancing financial processes, risk management, and digital finance solutions. You will partner with key stakeholders across the business to streamline and automate core finance activities, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
In this role, you will take the lead in optimising finance operations, ensuring that key financial processes—such as reporting, forecasting, and analytics—are streamlined and automated.
You will work closely with senior finance leaders, CFOs, and transformation teams to integrate best practices, enhance financial control frameworks, and support the adoption of digital finance solutions.
Your expertise will be critical in ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, APRA regulations, and other financial risk frameworks, while also driving forward-thinking strategies that position Westpac at the forefront of financial innovation.
Beyond the technical aspects, this role is about leadership and collaboration. You will guide and mentor teams, including managing offshore partnerships, to deliver high-quality financial insights and operational improvements. Your ability to engage stakeholders, influence decision-making, and solve complex financial challenges will be key to success.

What do I need?
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Proven success in finance process improvement, automation, and transformation using Lean/Six Sigma/Design Thinking methodologies.
- Strong financial reporting, forecasting, and compliance experience within banking or financial services.
- Experience working with finance data, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday Finance), and business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
- A track record of managing large teams, including offshore partnerships, to drive finance efficiency.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
