About us

Network Rail Consulting (NRC) is the international consultancy arm of Network Rail, the owner of Britain’s railway, one of the largest rail operations in the world.

We have been active in the Australian, the Middle East and North American markets since 2013 and have successfully delivered over 200 consultancy contracts for government, public and privately owned organisations, and for passenger and freight owners and operators, achieving consistently excellent levels of client satisfaction.

Our work is driven by our values: passion, agility, collaboration, and impartiality.

About the role

Due to continued growth, we are hiring a graduate-calibre Engineer to join our team in Sydney. Our graduate programme also includes:

  • Up to three structured learning visits to the United Kingdom to spend time in our parent company, Network Rail;
  • Membership to Engineers Australia ( the national body for Engineers with over 120,000 members );
  • Enrolment on the industry recognised development programme with Engineers Australia;
  • Professional networking opportunities with rail industry professionals;
  • Internal and external learning and development training courses;
  • Support and access to peers and mentors; and
  • Participation in the ' Go Global Grads Working Group

About you

  • You will need to be an Australian citizen;
  • Studying for - or have recently completed - a relevant degree (as outlined above);
  • A genuine desire for a career in the rail consulting sector;
  • Capable of handling different tasks, responsibilities and tight schedules;
  • Commitment and reliability in the workplace;
  • Passionate about personal and professional growth;
  • Excellent written and spoken abilities;
  • Skills in report writing;
  • Results orientated; and
  • A keen eye for detail
