As a Senior Network Consulting Engineer to assume a pivotal role in overseeing Networking projects. This dynamic position entails delivering comprehensive consulting and assessment services, crafting intricate solution architectures with a strong focus on security components, and implementing cutting-edge network infrastructure solutions.Key Responsibilities
- Serving as the Lead Engineer, providing technical oversight for complex projects involving multiple technology streams.
- Lead strategic consulting engagements with clients, understanding their business and technical objectives, and delivering tailored, high-impact networking solutions.
- Perform large scale firewall migrations from legacy vendor products to NGFW platforms.
- Work with a keen eye for detail within a network and security context across public, hybrid and private cloud environments.
- Ability to run technical workshops and deliver detailed designs for customers.
- Demonstrate experience in design, implementation and maintenance of complex networks.
- Oversee all facets of our networks and IT infrastructure, ensuring compliance with best practices, customer expectations and our agreed service level agreements.
- Managing competing priorities in a complex environment and devise creative technical solutions
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to managed service delivery, project delivery, profitability, customer satisfaction, and training.
- Design and implement network solutions to improve or optimise existing infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and support networking equipment like routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points (WAPs)
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a security-focused role, demonstrating expertise in advanced network design and security implementation.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in designing and implementing enterprise network solutions across LAN, WAN, wireless, and cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or other relevant tertiary qualifications, or equivalent practical experience in network engineering.
- In-depth ability to interpret and apply industry standards, policies, and legislation, including ISO27001, PCI DSS, Essential 8, NIST, to ensure compliance and security in network designs.
- Proven ability to quickly learn and apply new or unfamiliar technologies and products using documentation, research, and available resources.
- Ability to work autonomously, taking ownership of complex network projects, while also working effectively within a team environment with strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Detailed working knowledge of network solutions and certifications from leading vendors such as Aruba/HPE, Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, and Extreme Networks; experience with equivalent technologies from other vendors is also considered valuable.
