The Gig
An exciting opportunity for a quality driven , engaging , and improvement focused , HSE Advisor to become an integral part of a dynamic and professional project team. With a high value investment supported by local and state governments, you'll play a critical role contributing to major work packages, including a community land development, and a state-of-the-art recycling facility.
Located in Kurnell and reporting to the Project Manager, you'll play a crucial role in overseeing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of compliance with health and environmental regulations. You will ply your trade to ensure the well-being of employees, facility operations, as you work on impactful innovations, leaving a lasting legacy for the local community.
You will be trusted with:
- Conducting regular on-site inspections to identify and address potential health and safety hazards
- Developing and updating health and safety procedures for the facility, ensuring compliance with regulations
- Assessing risks associated with various tasks and activities, implementing measures to minimize hazards
- Supporting and developing the HSE Management system
- Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses, recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Developing and maintaining emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and first aid protocols
- Conducting regular safety audits, analyse performance data, and prepare reports for management
- Facilitating safety meetings, gathering feedback, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- 2 + years experience in a HSE role within the construction/civil industry
- Cert IV in Safety or above
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
