The Role
We’re looking for an experienced and driven Safety Manager to lead safety across the APAC region with responsibility for multiple sites. This role will be based in South Western Sydney and play an instrumental role in driving and developing safety strategy across the region, whilst supporting operations in tandem. Responsibilities include :
- Lead WHS strategy through developing and executing the regional safety strategy in alignment with corporate objectives, global strategy and ensuring best-in-class health and safety practices throughout APAC.
- Promote and drive a strong safety culture by championing proactive safety, embedding the Zero Harm strategy and critical control points around risk across all operations.
- Conduct risk assessments, support crisis management and any escalations.
- Ensure compliance to both local and relevant international WHS regulations, keeping up to date on industry developments and integrating industry best practices.
- Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Engage with stakeholders across multiple levels, from operations to the global senior leadership team on WHS matters, working closely across a wide group of stakeholders to drive positive change.
- Develop and deliver training, workshops, and safety programs to empower employees and managers in safe work practices, as well as being the face of safety across the region, to be called on as the expert and to advise.
- Track and analyse safety metrics, KPIs, and audit results, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the regional WHS team, ensuring alignment with strategic safety goals.
- Oversee the creation, implementation, and continuous improvement of WHS policies, procedures, and safety management systems, while supporting internal and external audits.
Your Background
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- 5 years' plus experience in a safety leadership role within a complex food manufacturing environment.
- Multi-site experience and familiarity working within a global business essential.
- A thorough understanding of ANZ safety regulations and standards.
- Proven experience in leadership and team management.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Must be able to operate at both an operational and wider strategic level effectively.
