About the Role
Red Sand Ecology is seeking an Environmental Consultant with three years experience, ideally expanding construction, consulting and major projects. The role will be based in South East Queensland, however does involve an element of travelling to support remote/regional Projects. A moderate to high level of physical fitness and experience working outdoors including in hot temperatures is required as this role encompasses both field and office based responsibilities.

Required Skills and Experience
- Provide technical and specialist environmental advice including strategic guidance to stakeholders.
- Excellent technical report and proposal writing skills, including innovative approach to existing business guides.
- Strong project delivery capability, with demonstrated experience in Queensland, New South Wales and National environmental legislation.
- Creation & implementation of various management plans & project specific documents.
- Perform field inspections and audits, evaluating environmental performance criteria, compliance, defects, and responding to incidents. This can sometimes include environmental testing and analysis.
- Understand assessment triggers and conduct environmental monitoring activities, including assessments of air quality, noise, vibration, and water quality.
- Foster strong and trusted communication and collaboration with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- A team-oriented mindset, thriving in a dynamic and diverse environment that often works with stakeholders to respond to environmental challenges.
Essential Qualifications
- Relevant degree qualification from a tertiary institution.
- Exceptional Microsoft Office Skills.
- A valid driver's license.
- A construction white card.
- Ability to work both in the office and in the field, including remote areas, with physical capability to perform fieldwork tasks.
Desirables
- Skills in QGIS or AutoCAD, including the ability to create maps and work with project-specific and publicly available datasets (dxf, dwg).
- Previous experience with drafting documentation to support Local, State and Federal Approvals, Permits and Licence applications including department consultation.
- Sound knowledge and practical experience with Main Roads and Transport Specifications in particular MRTS04, MRTS16, MRTS51, and MRTS52.
- Continuation of professional development including local, regional, and national planning and environmental regulations and ensuring that all projects and initiatives comply with relevant laws and guidelines.
- Certification in CPESC or equivalent.
- Certification in ISAP or equivalent.
- Certification Lead Auditor Training or equivalent.
- First Aid and 4WD certifications.
