What you’ll be doing
The Threat Awareness and Response Training program is a key component of the Collective and Individual Training Support Services (CITSS) that delivers specialist Explosive Hazards Awareness Threat (EHAT) and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defence (CBRND) capability training. It provides training materials and hands-on instruction to students, ensuring real-world contemporary EHAT and CBRND threats are effectively simulated and mitigated. This enables collective and individual tactical team training for military operations, both overseas and domestically.
Sub-Service Categories
• EHAT Planning (Levels 2–6): Planning and developing input for exercises or training activities to achieve designated EHAT training outcomes, including awareness of Electronic Counter Measures (ECM).
• EHAT Education (Technical Specialist): Delivering the instructional content component of EHAT training.
• CBRND Awareness Planning (Levels 1–6): Planning and developing input for exercises or training activities to achieve designated CBRND training outcomes, including ECM awareness.
• CBRND Awareness Education (Technical Specialist): Delivering the instructional content component of CBRND training, covering:
• Survivability in a CBRN threat environment
• Detecting and reporting CBRN threats
• CBRND Immediate Actions (IA) and Immediate Decontamination (ID) Drills
Working Conditions
• Contractual: Engagements are on a contractual basis.
• Location: Australia-wide, across Defence bases including Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, and Townsville.
• Travel: Requires travel across multiple Defence bases locally and interstate
What will make you successful in this role?
Minimum Qualifications
• Current Baseline or Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) Security Clearance (or higher)
• TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
• Experience working with the Australian Government or Defence
• Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation abilities
• Strong problem-solving capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic and driven team
Role-Specific Requirements
• EHAT Planning (Levels 2-6): Military Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) experience preferred
