I'm partnering with a leading casino operator in Adelaide that is making significant investments in strengthening their Financial Crime Risk and Compliance Framework . As part of this transformation, they’re looking to appoint a Transaction Monitoring Manager offering an exciting opportunity to build and lead this critical function from the ground up.

About the Role:
As the Transaction Monitoring Manager , you’ll be responsible for designing and implementing the casino’s transaction monitoring framework. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll lead day-to-day monitoring activities, conduct complex investigations, and ensure the business meets all regulatory obligations under AML/CTF legislation .
You’ll also collaborate closely with stakeholders across operations, legal, VIP services, and compliance, promoting a culture of financial crime awareness and responsible gaming.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the end-to-end transaction monitoring framework , policies, and procedures.
- Oversee transaction monitoring activities to detect, investigate, and escalate suspicious transactions.
- Prepare and submit Suspicious Matter Reports (SMRs) to AUSTRAC as required.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to manage financial crime risks and promote compliance best practices.
- Provide strategic input on system enhancements to improve monitoring effectiveness.
- Assist in regulatory audits and liaise with law enforcement or regulators as necessary.
- Potential to grow and lead a small team of analysts as the function scales.
- Strong background in financial crime compliance , particularly in transaction monitoring and AML/CTF investigations .
- Experience within casinos, gaming, or financial services is highly regarded.
- In-depth understanding of Australian AML/CTF regulations , AUSTRAC requirements, and financial crime typologies.
- Proven ability to conduct complex investigations and deliver clear, concise reports.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Hands-on, proactive approach—someone who enjoys building processes and frameworks from scratch.
- Relevant qualifications in AML/CTF, Financial Crime, or Compliance (preferred).
