We are seeking a highly skilled Automation and Control Engineer to design, implement, and optimize automation solutions within industrial and production environments. This role involves evaluating operational processes, enhancing system efficiency, and ensuring seamless integration of control systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plant engineering, production process improvement, and industrial automation, with a focus on increasing reliability, safety, and productivity.
Candidates must have full working rights in Australia and be eligible to work in Western Australia without restrictions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee resource allocation for projects, ensuring timely delivery of labour, materials, and machinery.
- Evaluate facility layout, workforce allocation, and production plans to maximize the effectiveness of personnel and equipment.
- Assess workflow structures, organizational procedures, and project documentation to streamline operations and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Conduct routine inspections of plant operations and equipment to maintain peak efficiency and prevent downtime.
- Design, configure, and implement PLC, SCADA, HMI, and DCS systems for process automation.

- Establish engineering specifications for materials, equipment, and plant layout, ensuring smooth material flow and optimal capacity planning.
- Supervise plant infrastructure maintenance, coordinate modifications to improve system performance, and develop long-term servicing schedules.
- Develop and implement work measurement techniques to establish benchmarks for labour allocation and production efficiency.
- Identify and troubleshoot automation failures, conducting root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
- Establishing and implementing comprehensive policies and standards for installation, system modifications, quality assurance, performance testing, inspections, and maintenance, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and engineering best practices
- Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong experience with IEC 61131-3 standard programming languages.
- Strong experience in creating and interpreting electrical CAD drawings.
- Established background in PLC programming, SCADA development, and industrial control system integration.
- Strong experience in embedded C programming.
- Experience with engineering documentation, process flow diagrams (PFD), and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Engineers Australia registration is highly beneficial.
- Full working rights in Australia (Western Australia) are required for this role.
