A bit about the role
As an Innovation Advisor at City of Casey, you'll be the catalyst for creative change across our organisation. You'll drive our internal innovation culture by managing key initiatives like the Casey Innovation Program, equipping employees with the mindset and skills to think differently, and the Living Lab Program, where ideas transform into real-world solutions through experimentation.
Working collaboratively across departments, you'll inspire teams to challenge conventional thinking, solve problems creatively, and continuously improve our services. Join us to spark the innovative spirit that will shape Casey's future.
What you’ll deliver
- Develop and manage a practical and results-oriented internal innovation capability program that aligns with strategic business goals.
- Deliver engaging, hands-on workshops and training to empower employees with innovation skills, ensuring concepts are applied in real-world, impactful ways.
- Balance bottom-up innovation, where employees contribute ideas, with top-down strategic direction, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
- Execute the Living Lab Program, enabling internal teams and external partners, such as startups, universities, and research institutions to experiment with and test new ideas in real-world settings while ensuring strategic alignment.
- Proactively identify opportunities to refine and improve innovation programs, ensuring they remain strategically relevant and effective.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in Business, Innovation, Design Thinking, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in innovation management, program execution, or corporate entrepreneurship.
- Experience applying data analysis and evidence-based decision-making to innovation programs.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple initiatives effectively.
- Excellent facilitation and training skills, with the ability to translate innovation theory into real-world application.
- Pragmatic and results-driven approach to innovation, balancing creativity with feasibility and business impact.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
- A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
