NXT GIG is looking for a skilled MS Defender Consultant to join our dynamic team and enhance our cybersecurity efforts through Microsoft Defender solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, configuring, and optimizing Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Identity to secure our clients' environments against emerging threats. You will collaborate with IT security teams to develop proactive strategies, conduct assessments, and implement security measures that align with best practices and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft security solutions, a deep understanding of threat detection and response, and a passion for protecting digital assets. Responsibilities
  • Implement and configure Microsoft Defender solutions, including Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Identity, to secure client environments.
  • Conduct security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation actions using Microsoft Defender tools.
  • Monitor security incidents and alerts, investigating and responding to threats in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to develop and enforce security policies and procedures.
  • Design and deliver training sessions for staff on effective use of Microsoft Defender tools and security best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Microsoft security features, updates, and emerging cyber threats to enhance protection strategies.
  • Document security processes, incidents, and remediation efforts for compliance and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a security consultant with a focus on Microsoft Defender solutions.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat detection, and incident response methodologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Microsoft Defender for Identity is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
