HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly clients living in their home. As a pastoral care volunteer, you’ll be actively involved with a local Christian church.
We are seeking a Pastoral Care Volunteer to visit an elderly Lady living in North Turramurra. Our client would value regular companionship and robust conversations. She has a Methodist background but was part of the School of Philosophy for 40 years, which has had more of an impact on her life. She will benefit from having a pastoral care volunteer visit her.
You’ll supplement and complement the work of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may:
* Support people to meet their spiritual needs
* Nurture spiritual development
Skills required for this role:
- High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills.
- Pastoral Care training for example Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or you could attend HammondCare pastoral care training- Spiritual Care Series, in preparation to becoming a pastoral care volunteer.

When: starts Wednesday 7th May, concludes 2nd July 2025. Note a break for the week 4th June
Time:2:00 – 4:00pm
Where: Leighton Lodge, Nth Turramurra

RequirementsWe'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
18 years or older • National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare plus NDIS Worker Screening Check •
