The Role:
The Inventory Supervisor at Australian Defence Apparel Pty Ltd plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing the inventory operations within the organisation. This position is responsible for ensuring that all inventory processes are executed efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall success of supply chain management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising and coordinating daily inventory activities, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records by conducting regular stock audits and reconciliations.
- Analysing inventory levels and trends to forecast future stock requirements and minimise excess or obsolete stock.
- Implementing best practices for inventory management, including optimisation of warehouse layout and storage techniques.
- Leading a team of inventory staff, providing training, guidance, and support to enhance their performance.
- Collaborating with other departments such as purchasing, production, and sales to ensure alignment on inventory needs.
- Managing discrepancies in stock counts by investigating variances and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Utilising inventory management software to track stock movements accurately and generate reports for management review.
- Ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations within the warehouse environment.
This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and an ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of accuracy. The Inventory Supervisor will directly contribute to optimising operational efficiency through effective inventory control strategies.

Required Experiences:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in inventory management or a related field
- Qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management or related field
- Proven track record of managing stock levels and optimising inventory processes
- Experience with supply chain management principles and logistics operations
- Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a warehouse or distribution environment
- Familiarity with compliance standards related to inventory control within the apparel industry is preferred
- Demonstrated history of implementing process improvements for efficiency gains.
