About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join HaRTSS as a Sexual Assault Nurse, where you will be responsible for:

  • Providing high-quality clinical forensic nursing care to ensure optimal health outcomes for consumers.
  • Conducting forensic evidence collection and documentation for sexual assault investigations.
  • Preparing forensic reports and providing expert opinions for legal proceedings.
  • Assessing consumer needs, developing care plans, and coordinating appropriate service delivery.
  • Managing referrals to other disciplines or agencies to meet healthcare needs.
  • Supporting risk minimization practices to ensure consumer and staff safety.
  • Participating in clinical teaching, mentoring staff, and contributing to professional development.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate
  • Registered nurse with at least 3 years post registration experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing a quality service to the client who has experienced rape or sexual assault
  • High level skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated ability in successfully working with limited or no direction or supervision and exercising a high level of professional judgement and clinical competence within scope of practice, in a multi-disciplinary setting.
  • Experience with assessment in sexual health and anogenital examinations
  • Demonstrated competence in assessment of clinical issues
