Role Overview

The Executive Director, Kidsafe Connect Transformation Program is a senior leadership role within the Department for Child Protection (DCP), responsible for driving a comprehensive transformation of business processes and systems supporting child protection services.

This role requires expertise in strategic project management, service reform, IT management, digital system integration, and organisational change to enhance workforce capability, foster innovation, and improve outcomes for vulnerable children, young people, and families.

The Executive Director will collaborate with internal teams, government agencies, and non-government partners to modernise and integrate digital systems in alignment with DCP’s strategic priorities, ensuring more effective service delivery.

This is a critical role that will be pivotal in shaping the future of the child protection system and ensuring every child is safeguarded, supported, and given the best opportunity to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

As the Executive Director, Kidsafe Connect Transformation Program you will be accountable for leading and managing the successful execution of the Kidsafe Connect Transformation Program and providing effective leadership throughout the program and change management process.

You will be responsible for delivering a replacement of the current case management system which will include leading the adoption of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence and data analytics, whilst ensuring that systems and processes are scalable, secure, sustainable and adaptable for future technological advancements.

Essential Skills and Expertise

Applicants should tailor their application to highlight how their skills and expertise align with the position's requirements:

  • Extensive experience leading large-scale business and service transformation programs, including significant IT and digital reforms, within government or complex organisations, ideally in health or human services.
  • Expertise in modern program management methodologies, blending Agile and other approaches within strong governance frameworks.
  • Strong business, financial, and strategic acumen with a focus on value creation.
  • High-level negotiation, collaboration, and influencing skills to drive program success.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities, with a proven track record in managing cross-functional teams and driving innovation.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strategic partnerships and foster collaboration across SA and other jurisdictions.
  • Deep experience in large-scale change management to drive innovation and service improvements.
  • Proven leadership in co-designing customer-centric business transformations enabled, but not dictated, by technology.
  • Expertise in integrating complex digital systems across agencies, with a solid grasp of legislative requirements.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and integration in multi-agency environments, ensuring data integrity and transparency.
