The Role:
The key focus areas for this role include understanding state building control, associated Codes and standards and related local government and private sector administrative processes. The role reports to the Business Lead – Building Surveying and will provide support to colleagues on a range of project and program outcomes.
About You:
To be successful in these positions, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of the National and State-based statutory instruments that form part of the Building Rules in SA including the National Construction Code.
- Ability to interpret, review and implement technical Codes and standards.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the online Development Assessment Portal.
- Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively to build cooperation, implement change, mitigate risk and encourage open communications for the sharing of knowledge across teams/units.
- Well-developed analytical and research skills to evaluate and analyse complex faults and information, provide specialised professional advice and consultancy, and develop clear reports with recommendations in an environment of competing priorities.
- Proven ability to work under general direction, independently or as part of a team, exercise significant initiative, set priorities, plan and coordinate activities, achieve objectives within deadlines and make timely and well- informed professional decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, succinctly and accurately, in writing and verbally, to people at all levels in a professional and tactful manner.
Qualification:
- A recognised degree or recognised post graduate qualification in architecture, engineering, building surveying, construction management, building, public policy, law or related discipline.
- Accreditation (or eligibility) as an Accredited Professional – Building Level 1 or Building Level 2 in South Australia.
Special Conditions
Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years.
Remuneration:
PO3 - $101,285 - $107,078
