Join our dynamic team at the Limestone Coast Local Health Network, where you'll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional patient care. As the Medical Scientist - Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, you'll work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assist in the diagnosis and management of respiratory and sleep disordered for inpatient and outpatient.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instructing patients in performance of pulmonary tests to ensure optimal patient performance.
- Assist in data collection, maintenance, and analysis.
- Prepare documentation pertaining to testing and reports in an accurate and comprehensive manner.
- Assist in the development of new research protocols and procedures in accordance with established standards.
- Assisting with equipment maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting and adequate supplies for testing are stocked.

Overview:
Step into a transformative role as the Medical Scientist - Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, where you will be responsible providing specialised clinical support and assisting in the diagnosis and management of Respiratory and Sleep disorders.
Reporting directly to the Head of General Medicine, and working closely with the General Medicine team, you will deliver high-quality and precise services in the provision of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine disorders for Mount Gambier & Districts Health Service inpatients and outpatients.
As the Medical Scientist - Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, you will ensure that quality assurance techniques, equipment maintenance and performing specialised pulmonary test procedures are adhered to, whilst demonstrating a patient-centred approach in all aspects of your work. You will work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team and stakeholders to assist in the delivery of patient-centred outcomes for our consumers.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science), or an equivalent/related field.
- Experience in patient/clinical laboratory environment.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organise work to meet competing deadlines and set goals in short timeframes.
- Demonstrated high-level of written, verbal and interpersonal communication.
- Experience using Microsoft Office suite programs.
