Are you an environmental or renewable energy professional, developer, consultant, planner, scientist, or engineer who is looking to progress your career in a dynamic and rewarding role in the renewable energy sector?

Our Wind & Transmissions and Assessments team within the NSW Planning group are seeking to appoint Environmental Assessment Officers to contribute to the NSW Government’s assessment and regulation of high-profile projects across the renewable energy sector. This dynamic team works on large scale wind farms, solar farms, transmission lines, pumped hydro and batteries (BESS) across NSW.

About the role

Our Environmental Assessment Officers assist with the high quality, efficient and timely assessment of the merits of State significant projects to meet all statutory obligations, Government policy requirements, and Government goals for a more robust and efficient state planning system that achieves strategic infrastructure, economic and growth objectives.

You will assess the merits of State significant projects in line with best practice frameworks and benchmark assessment outcome turnaround times and produce high quality work on a wide range of planning matters, including the preparation of well written, accurate and timely reports and effective conditions of consent.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant environmental and planning legislation and its practical application

Essential requirements

  • Degree in environmental science or management, engineering, planning or other relevant discipline
  • Willingness to travel and (minimum) Class C Driver’s License
