The Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS) in South Australia supports older people to maximise their mental health, working with the community, ageing and primary health care sectors to prevent or reduce the incidence and/or escalation of mental health issues.
About the role:
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, your role will support the Registered Nurse/Midwife in the provision of person-centred care consistent with regulatory and statutory requirements.
Duties for this role include:
- Demonstrates knowledge and skill in rehabilitation assessment, care and routine procedures for rehabilitation nursing practices,
- Provides assistance to other members of the health care team in provision of care to individuals/groups, including overseeing the work of students,
- Recognises the importance of evidence based practice,
- Contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers.
About you:
- Registered or eligible for registration as an enrolled nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate,
- In order to administer medicines, must have completed a Board-approved program of study which includes an administration of medicines unit,
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment,
- Experience in the provision of nursing care in the healthcare setting in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
