Description:
We are seeking qualified and experienced chefs that are looking to step into being a part of the growth of our business and contribute to running this high-volume kitchen. We are located at Cranbourne, Victoria.
The job duties include (not limited to):
- Prepare and cook all food orders whilst ensuring quality and presentation is maintained. Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies Ensure par levels of dry goods are maintained.
- Ensure all food produced is in line with kitchen recipes and standards.
- Ensure service in the kitchen is consistently fast and efficient and report all matters to the Management as required.
- Supervise all team members within your area of responsibility including kitchen hands. Ensuring food used for preparation and cooking is fresh.
- Following food rotation procedures to maximise freshness and reduce spoiling of fresh ingredients.
- Assist with food prep and follow food safety standards.
- Working and communicating with kitchen staff about food allergies and restrictions when relevant.
- Maintain clean working space and follow sanitation procedures.
- Freeze and preserve food in line with food safety process.
- Work as part of a team and provide support to other team members when required.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels to reduce wastage.
- Liaise with F&B service team members regarding the availability of menu items, additions and any changes to the menu.
- Check all food is stored and handled as per current food health and hygiene regulations.
- Work with the other team members in Kitchen and Front house to resolve any guest complaints regarding the quality of food.
- Instruct, train and develop cooks or junior kitchen staff
Discuss with the restaurant manager any equipment purchases and repairs required. Storing food according to safety requirements.
The candidate must have
- Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate
- Certificate III, IV, Diploma in Commercial Cookery
- Must have at least 2 years previous experience
- Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
Award wages apply $70,000 to $80,000 based on experience. Only qualified candidates will be contacted
