NXT GIG is seeking a talented Oracle DBA to join our IT department and play a key role in maintaining and optimizing our Oracle database systems. As an Oracle DBA, you will be responsible for database installation, configuration, monitoring, and performance tuning to ensure high availability and reliability of our data environments. You will collaborate with application developers and system administrators to support database-related issues and assist with database design and implementation. Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software and related tools.
- Monitor database performance and optimize queries for efficient data retrieval and storage.
- Implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard mission-critical data.
- Perform routine database maintenance, including space management, indexing, and tuning.
- Collaborate with development teams to support application database requirements and resolve issues.
- Manage user access and security by defining and monitoring user roles and permissions.
- Stay updated on Oracle best practices and emerging technologies related to database management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Oracle DBA or in a similar role focused on database management.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture, features, and functionalities.
- Experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery tools and techniques for Oracle databases.
- Good understanding of database security principles and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Oracle certification is a plus.
