Queensland's Court Services are a crucial and fundamental cornerstone of civil society. As the Queensland courts undergo a period of transformation & reform, the Program Manager role presents an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of these changes. The Supreme, District and Land Courts Service is responsible for piloting a Sexual Offence Expert Evidence Panel (Panel) for sexual offence proceedings as per recommendations of the Women’s Safety and Justice Taskforce Hear Her Voice Report Two.The Program Manager role will oversee the continued implementation & management of the Panel pilot and Program Team. The position requires program management experience & knowledge of government governance requirements along with leadership skills to lead, guide, & mentor staff and expert panel members. The position will ensure the Panel operates as intended in Brisbane and Townsville.
The Supreme, District and Land Courts Service (SDLCS) sits within the Courts and Tribunals Division of the Department of Justice and Attorney-General and provides administrative support and registry services to the judiciary and court users in Queensland.
The SDLCS is piloting a Sexual Offence Expert Evidence Panel (Panel) in response to recommendations of the Women's Safety and Justice.
As the Program Manager, Panel your key responsibilities will be to:
- Lead implementation of the Panel pilot to support its efficient and effective operation and oversee its evaluation.
- Manage the pilot's program of work in accordance with the department's strategy, policies, systems, and procedures and whole of sector frameworks.
- Identify emerging issues, risks, and priorities that may impact the pilot's delivery and proactively respond with strategies to address these impacts.
- Provide expert advice and support on operational and strategic matters affecting the Panel, pilot and program of work.
- Provide advisory support to the Panel's Steering Committee.
- Effectively manage the work performance and personal conduct of the Panel Program Team in line with relevant legislation, policies and delegated authority, ensuring adherence to ethical decision-making principles and standards.
- Foster, manage and maintain positive and effective working relationships with stakeholders and clients, including the Panel's Steering Committee, the judiciary, senior management, and other relevant agencies to achieve the pilot's objectives and monitor and analyse performance.
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of authoritative reports, documents, presentations, executive briefs and correspondence as required.
