Metrologist

We are urgently seeking a skilled meteorologist for a 3-month contract with our client. You will work in the lab measuring complex small metal components using precision tools. Experience in hardness testing, weld section macro examination, or CMM operation is highly desirable but not essential. A background in metrology, quality inspection, tool making is preferred. Description

• Precision Measurement: Use a range of precision measurement tools, including Verniers, Calipers, Micrometres, height gauges, depth gauges, bore measuring tools, and dial indicators (analogue and digital), to accurately measure small metal components.

• Interpretation of Engineering Drawings: Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure precise measurements align with technical specifications.

• Record Keeping: Accurately record all measurement results and data, ensuring that records are clear, comprehensive, and organised for further analysis.

• Quality Control: Perform regular checks to ensure the measurements meet high standards of accuracy and quality.

• Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure that all measurement activities align with project deadlines and client requirements.

Profile

• • Essential Experience: Proven experience in using precision measuring tools and equipment to measure small components.

  • Engineering Drawing Interpretation: Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Background in Metrology or Quality Control: Previous experience working as a metrologist, quality inspector, or toolmaker would be highly advantageous.

  • Additional Skills (Desirable but not Essential): Hardness testing experience, Ability to perform weld section macro examinations, Experience using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).

  • Flexible working hours either 7:00AM - 3:30PM or 8:00AM - 4:30PM.
