Join Suncorp as a AI Safety Manager to shape and implement comprehensive AI safety standards across our technology and business functions.

As AI Safety Manager you will lead the development and implementation of AI guidelines that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements while also supporting AI adoption and roadmaps. You will contribute to the ethical use of AI systems and models in accordance with data ethics principles, governance standards, and operational requirements. This leadership role provides an opportunity to drive innovation while safeguarding operational integrity in AI transformation initiatives.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement AI safety standards and guidelines
  • Operationalise guidelines for in-house AI models and third-party applications
  • Promote AI ethics through training sessions and organisational awareness campaigns.
  • Monitor and track AI use for compliance and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Partner with technology, legal, compliance, and privacy teams.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, IT, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • Proven experience in AI governance, data governance, or related fields
  • Strong knowledge of AI models, data ethics, privacy laws, and regulatory standards
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiarity with AI/ML technologies and frameworks
  • Certifications in AI governance or data privacy (e.g., AIGP, CIPP) are a plus
